North Shore Road Residence

This addition to the former Welton Family Residence, built in the
1930s at the landing site of the old Lafayette River Ferry,
marries satisfying traditional architectural styling with the
contemporary need for space and amenities.

The principal need was for an 800 square foot great room,
which required high ceilings to accommodate the owners'
growing big game hunting trophies along with reorganization
of the existing first floor plan.

The greatest design challenge was to create this modern
space in complete harmony with the original structure, to
present a modern plan in a turn-of-the-century shell.
