Algonquin Park Residence
1994 AIAHR Design Achievement Award : Residential Design
1993 Virginia Society AIA Residential Design Award
This riverfront home project involved the renovation of an
existing residence, the completion of a new outbuilding design
for boat construction, and the design of a third structure for
boat storage - all of which combine to frame a forecourt for
the complex. Expansion of the home's kitchen and creation of
a new entry foyer set the tone for "craftsman-style" forms
and details that were repeated in the design of the boat shop.
The project achieves an extraordinarily high level of invention.
It is very knowing, and reveals an incredible concern for detail. |
