Indian River High School Renovation Phase I+II
Client: Chesapeake Public Schools

Phase I: 39,064 sf :: $2.8 million
Phase II:19,270 sf new / 21,640 sf renovated :: $2.3 million

PHASE I : The existing 20-year-old high school required survey
and evaluation to establish program requirements. This project
consists of an addition to accommodate an 8,854sf gymnasium
addition with support offices and storage; and a 29,410sf
classroom addition with 20 general instruction classrooms, 3
earth science laboratories with preparation rooms, a physics
and chemistry laboratory with preparation rooms, 3 cross-
categorical special education classrooms with toilet/support
spaces, 4 general special education classrooms, student
toilets, offices, teachers’ lounge, and meeting rooms. Also
associated with this project is an 800sf stadium storage
building located near the existing stadium.

PHASE II : This project involved an addition to accommodate
vocational classrooms, art rooms, media center expansion,
construction of team locker rooms, existing office and
guidance suite alterations and renovations, new lighting and
ceilings in the corridors throughout the building, a new 400
car parking lot and re-alignment of existing access roads.
