Jeffry C. Hume joins VIA
Jeffry C. Hume, AIA has joined the Norfolk based Architectural firm of VIA design architects, p.c. as the Director of
Project Design and Management. He will lead the Company's Waterfront Design & Development Initiatives and collaborative
design studio. He holds a Master of Architecture from Clemson University; sits on the City of Richmond Building Code Board of
Appeals and is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Richmond.
VIA Wins Excellence in Development Design Award
The Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate awarded Phaneuf the
First Honor Award in the Best Interior Class for the D'Art Center @ Selden Arcade, in Downtown Norfolk. The judge's comments included "Sophisticated, yet industrial-has an attitude" and "Marvelous adaptation of contemporary gallery space within a constrained historical arcade setting.
Phaneuf was also awarded the Award of Merit for the Best Multi-Family with the Riverpark condominiums located in Downtown Norfolk. The judge's comments included "Vibrant and family living/Superior site planning and respectful approach to existing features and buildings."

Phaneuf Honored
Donna Phaneuf was selected as one of the 2005 Women in Business Achievement
Award recipients by Inside Business. The awards were presented at
a special luncheon on December 5 which was attended by the recipients
and their guests along with prominent business leaders. This is
the third year for the awards program which exists to recognize women
for their achievements and to encourage their growth, abilities, self-confidence,
and active participation in the economic growth of the community.

Wins HR ACRE Award
The Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate awarded VIA the
Best Industrial Building Award of Merit for their work on the Corporate
Dining and Training Facility in Williamsburg, Virginia. The judges'
comments included "good effort at humanizing an industrial complex"
and "appreciate the relationship between the interior and exterior." For more information on this project, click

Waterfront Conference
The Waterfront Center's
23rd Annual International Conference was held
in Savannah, Georgia from November 10-12. The theme for this year's
event was "Urban Waterfronts-Navigating the Edge". The
conference featured many dynamic speakers, workshops, and area tours and
was attended by government officials, A/E professionals, and business
developers from across the country. VIA's work as a focused waterfront
design and development niche expert was very well received by all in attendance.
